Ed Viesturs (the first American to climb all 14 of the eight-thousander mountains) wrote “No Shortcuts to the Top”. This book about his amazing mountaineering feats taught me two things.

  1. Moutaineers are total badasses

  2. It takes a long time and a ton of work to do something worthwhile

As a 20-year military veteran married to a historian, my wife and I have seen some things. Ok, we’ve seen A LOT of things.

You can’t buy that kind of experience…but…we can write about it here.

We want to share our knowledge with you so you can create your own adventures.

The History Road Trip will give you travel tips on getting to some of our favorite historic locations and stories about history’s famous characters who walked those grounds.

  • Was Joshua Chamberlain the real hero of Gettysburg?

  • Did Merriweather Lewis really commit suicide…or was he murdered?

  • How did John Wilkes Booth end up locked inside a burning barn during his escape?

  • Where is the best place to grab dinner in Colonial Williamsburg?

Free or Paid?

Honestly…I’d be stoked if you signed up for free. Remember though, it takes a TON of work to make something worthwhile.
